This past week I was asked to submit my thoughts for a motherhood realizations interview on a website called Mama Bear Reviews.
It is always an extremely exciting thing to be interviewed for another writer’s website.
I have always felt like collaborating with other writers is the best way to find your own success. I feel honored for my opinion to be valued enough that someone is willing to display it within their work!
Collaboration is a huge deal in the blogging world, and helps everyone succeed within their niche.
Obviously, I talk about motherhood and military lifestyle here on Homegrown Happiness Co, so a motherhood realizations interview was right down my alley.

The big question at hand? What is something that you didn’t realize until after you became a mother?
I’m not going to lie, I had to think long and hard about what I was going to answer. I mean, motherhood teaches you SO much.. Especially with the first kid!
I knew many moms would respond with something serious.. They’d talk about how self-care was so important and how overwhelming it can be when you don’t know what is wrong with your baby.
There is NOTHING wrong with sharing those feelings– I just always try to be a lighthearted person.
I needed to come up with something that would make people laugh.
What did I decide on? The most true thought I’ve EVER felt about the realities of motherhood.
My interview answer
I totally chose to share something super embarrassing.
The funny part is that I don’t find myself getting embarrassed often anymore. After giving birth in the hospital, I have had so many people see parts of me that I’ve never even seen! At this point, there isn’t anything that can embarrass me!
If you have the chance, you should absolutely check out the rest of that article. There are multiple mother’s feelings on there, and it displays the beautiful reality that is motherhood.
You can read it here.
What came of the interview
This awesome interview actually inspired me to start a campaign I’m referring to as Motherhood Truths.
It is a comedic release for the realities of motherhood. I’ll cover topics like never peeing alone, wishing for a nap, and wondering how your kid is so cute!
If you’re ever looking for someone to give you the honest truth mixed with a lot of laughter, then I am your girl!
Thank you again to Amelia at Mama Bear Interviews for the opportunity.
