The Best Places to Take Pictures on Tybee Island

Updated: Apr 6

Tybee Island is one of Georgia’s hidden gems. It is a small beach just outside of Savannah, but it has so much to offer. Living in Savannah has given me the opportunity to find all the best places to take pictures on Tybee Island.

I’ve talked about Huccapoos many times before. They have the best pizza, and the most photoshoot worthy vibe to their restaurant. The building is full of old signs and pictures. I’ve been there one hundred times before, but every time I go I see something new. You can take pictures inside, outside on the deck, or down at the corn hole area.

Tybee Island Lighthouse

You can feel free to venture to the top of the lighthouse, but pictures from the ground are just as beautiful! I’ll admit, I’ve never climbed the lighthouse! I don’t think I’ve ever even visited it when it has been open. You can access photo spots even when the lighthouse is not open for business.

South Beach Swing

Drive all the way to the end of the island, and you’ll find the edge of South Beach. Parking at the very end of South Beach is limited to two little gravel lots, so you can’t always expect to find a spot! If you can, the sunsets are always stunning. I had my maternity pictures taken by the swing on South Beach! A huge thank you to Taylor Dawn photography for these beautiful maternity shots.

On North Beach

Visitors typically opt for North Beach because there is a much larger parking area. North Beach is very large, and you have an awesome view of the lighthouse behind you. You can also tour the old fort at Tybee’s North Beach.

A second spot to take pictures on North Beach is at the rocks. Enter North Beach to the left of the bathrooms and the restaurant, and you’ll be closer to the large rock wall.

Visit Tybee Island

Tybee Island is a beautiful little beach. I’ve found so many spots to take pictures on Tybee Island that look like something out of a beach magazine. We love Tybee so much that we even did a staycation there at one of the homes owned by Tybee Vacation Rentals. The beaches from my home state are much larger, but it is harder to explore a bigger area, so I’m content with little ole Tybee!
