What do you have planned September thru November? Have you checked around for any new family friendly activities for the fall season?
Fall is an incredible time of the year to get your family outside for some screen-free time. My family enjoys spending time outside, but it is much easier when you aren’t sweating buckets!
Hello fall adventuring!
Find a pumpkin farm nearby
I don’t think there is anything cuter than watching children pick out their very own pumpkin at the pumpkin farm. The run through the isles of different colored gourds and pumpkins, trying to find that perfect one. Be sure to take pictures of them while they’re hunting for their pumpkin treasure.
Typically, farms that are selling pumpkins also have other family friendly activities for fall. Check to see if any of the farms near you have a corn maze, hay ride, or haunted maze available.
In my hometown in North Carolina, we have a farm that is a town staple. Kens Korn Maze is a hit every year. There are hay rides, a corn maze, a haunted maze, pumpkin picking, and other fun obstacles for younger children to enjoy. This year, Ken added a sunflower field for pictures and picking!
Head out into nature
Wanting an adventure that is more secluded but still screen-free? Take your family out into nature!
If you have a long weekend, then grab a tent and head out camping. If you need something outdoors, but can’t take a vacation, go for a hike! Not only will hiking be the perfect quarantine activity, but you’re able to adventure around your home!
Check for state or national parks nearby. You can usually find parks that allow both hiking and camping. Some parks charge a small fee to rent a space for camping.

You can stay home and still plan some family friendly activities related to fall! I put together a small list of activity ideas that you can do without leaving the house.
